The book The Large Hermes Heads of Greece—Deciphering These Magnificent Classical Stamps won a Large Gold medal at Boston 2026 World Expo (May 2026). It was the only book from the United States to receive a Large Gold. In all, only 3 of the 98 competing books were awarded a Large Gold model, each with 95 points.
If my memory serves me well, it was also the only book of Greek interest, or by a Greek author, to win a Large Gold at an FIP-sanctioned exhibition since John Daes’ book at Jerusalem 2018 (and, before that, Michèle Chauvet’s book at New York 2016).
My warmest congratulations go to another fellow Greek exhibitor, Nikos Karniaoutakis, who won a vermeil medal for his excellent book “Sleep in Peace, Hellas became strong – Mechanical slogan cancellations of the 4th of August regime 1936.” Nikos is also the author of another excellent book, “Large Hermes Heads of Greece – Observations on identifying and classifying the easier to follow values,” available for free for personal use at his blog here.
